Venice

I think I’m in heaven, I have to pinch myself to see if this is real, yes it is, the crowds reminds you of it. Venice is a magical and awesome place, it bombards all your senses. It is vibrant and busy and peaceful at the same time in different locations. The photos always looks so serene, early in the morning it is, but a lot of the time shot in gaps between people. There are quiet places off the beaten track with little alleys that ends at a canal and then the beauty and peace settles on you. I love Venice! I have many favourite places from our travels and this is one of them. I feel very blessed to be able to be here. Glad we stayed 3 days to rest and recharge again, there is so much to see one should stay longer.

We took the Vaporetti nr1 – the canal Taxi /boat that goes down the Grand canal to St Marks square. This boat stops at all the little stops and takes longer which is nice so you get to admire everything and get more chances for taking photos. We went early, walked on the boat and it was comfortably full, just after lunch when we came back there were long lines waiting to get on and the other boats were packed like sardines! Not comfortable. I think maybe weekends are busier, even though it is also prime holiday season.

We are in a great airbnb: first things first, there are aircon in every room- you need it, because it is HOT and humid. Brisbane friends will feel right at home. We change clothes when we get back home wash and hang it on this scary line- I DON’T like heights. We’re on the top floor and you have to hang over the edge of the window. The view over the roofs are lovely. I love the church bells that ring at certain times.

We took a gondola ride early the morning first thing, when it was still cooler- before all the other tourists arrive and it was incredibly peaceful.

And again some beautiful ballet photos!

Last and the most important are these little creatures: Venice -City of dogs

There are so many little dogs here and they are all very well trained. Ps. the owners pick up after you know.

Habakuk 2:14. For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the see.

O I was grinning from ear to ear reading your post and looking at the lovely photos, I could hear Vivaldi in the background and just imagined for a moment I was there , taking the pictures for you.
